‘Energy Efficiency in Buildings’

10 September 2019

Symposium ‘Energy Efficiency in Buildings’
Innovations made in Germany

Did you know that buildings worldwide consume around 32% of the total energy consumption and are responsible for one fifth of greenhouse gas emissions? In Singapore, the construction sector is the country's second largest consumer of electricity, whereas cooling, mechanical ventilation and lighting account for the largest share of electricity consumption in a building. One of the key targets of the city-state is the reduction of its current CO2 emissions by 36% by 2030 compared to 2005.

On behalf of the BMWi (Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy), the Singaporean-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce and RENAC are organising a German trade mission to Singapore. The 4-day programme aims to introduce the participating companies to the business location Singapore, as well as showcase Singapore’s capabilities in the field of energy efficiency in buildings.

The compelling programme involves briefings, site visits and networking opportunities to foster bilateral business relationships between Singapore and Germany. As highlight of the programme in Singapore, we will organise a symposium on 10 September 2019 where the German companies will present their innovations.
